In #1, % shares of household by income, I would be really interested in overlaying education attainment data on that chart.

I think that you will be surprised by the results of that. I know a lot of people with only HS or some college that are easily making 7 figures and up. Remember, Bill Gates and Elon Musk never finished college.

Thanks for sharing this uplifting deck... Why not publish slides on Legal Immigration. There are about 700,000 to 900,000 new citizens yearly and 1,000,000 visas issued. So much press is spilled on the illegals, how about the "good guys" who do it right?

Hmm ... according to Pew Research, the "middle class" is defined as households earning between two-thirds and double the national median income. They last calculated the median income for 2023 as $80,610. That would make the income range of the middle class as between $54,000 and $161,000. However, as Pew points out, this range varies greatly by region as income varies widely in various regions of the US.

The reason we have less poverty since 1967 is because of the safety net programs that were just eviscerated.

Thanks, Bruce! One question - how much of the increase in percent of people becoming richer is due to age demographics, i.e., America is getting older and older Americans are richer.?
